Interacting entities and the Five Elements Theory

Abstract

The mind and consciousness are usually scientifically modeled on the basis of quantum mechanics, and this idea has gained some validity in recent times with quantum mechanical phenomena being increasingly demonstrated in biology. It has been suggested that the brain is in fact an organ selected through evolution to retain the properties and sensitivities of the quantum mechanical level. This paper proposes that in the process of evolution, the brain is likely to have explored all characteristics of sensory interactions with entities in order to extract all available information regarding the environment. The continuing exploration is likely to have resulted in the development of mechanisms specializing in each of the various quantum mechanical properties which make up the complete interaction. Specialized perceptual modes of brains would have come up around different properties in order to analyze them fully. The derived modes bear similarities to the five elements postulated by
ancient scientific and philosophic theories to have composed the world, namely Earth, Water, Air, Fire and the Void, each of which would thus be an equal and fundamental contributor to the overall wholeness of perception, with science currently being focused on two or three of these. The evolution of human perception is examined in the framework of the above elements and it is proposed that attempts to quantify the abilities of the brain would include an additional quotient, MQ, in addition to the three (IQ, SQ, & EQ) which are currently proposed.
